Steve is a shareholder and is extensively involved in the legislative section of the firm.
He has over 26 years of experience in the legislative process.
Steve received his Bachelor's Degree in Journalism with honors from the University of Florida and earned his Juris Doctor at the Florida State University College of Law in 1975.
Steve practices in the areas of legislative, governmental, administrative and environmental law.
Steve is the former Staff Director of the House Committee on Personnel and Retirement and a former Assistant Attorney General.
He was the General Counsel of the Florida Home Builders Association from 1976 to 1981 and the General Counsel of the Florida Chamber of Commerce from 1981 to 1985.
He is a member of the Florida Bar and the American Bar Association and has been a lecturer on legislative practice, as well as growth management topics. During his career, he has played a major role in a wide range of legislative initiatives including tax issues, health regulations, workers compensation, judicial, environmental, construction and growth management issues.
In 1998 and 1999, Steve was chosen by the leading business associations in Florida to serve as Executive Director of Tort Reform United Effort (TRUE), the lobbying group formed to successfully advocate tort reform in Florida.
Steve has served as the Vice President of Governmental Affairs for the Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Natural Resource Committee of the Florida Chamber of Commerce.
He also served as the Chairman of the Task Force on Crime for the Florida Chamber of Commerce.
Currently, he serves on the Florida Chamber of Commerce Board of Governors as Chairman of the Legislative Policy Council.
