BrownLegislative & Governmental Affairs | Administrative Law Monesia Brown is an attorney who works in a wide range of policy areas, including state procurement, workforce development and education. Monesia has extensive experience advising clients on state and local economic development issues and workforce trends. Prior to joining private practice Monesia served, at the pleasure of Governor Charlie Crist, as the Director of the Florida Agency for Workforce Innovation, worked for the Florida Department of Legal Affairs as Director of Legislative Affairs, Special Counsel and Chief Cabinet Aide. Under the leadership of Governor Jeb Bush she served as general counsel to the Department of Management Services and Assistant General Counsel at the Department of Business & Professional Regulation. Among her other responsibilities Monesia stays very involved within her state and community where she serves on The Early Learning Coalition of the Big Bend, the United Way of the Big Bend, and Friends of the Museum of Florida History. She is also a member of Leadership Florida Class 28. Monesia attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she earned her J.D. and was Editor of the International Law Journal. She attended Illinois State University where she majored in English and minored in Philosophy. Monesia is married to Junious Brown, and they are proud parents of two boys, Jay and Evan.
